Business Website
A showcase of a crucial and exemplary slice of Ghanaian history
A website for the documentary film, When Women Speak, that traces the stories of 16 Ghanaian women who were crucial in the fight for gender equality in the first few decades after Ghana's independence.
The challenge
The documentary needed a platform that was informative and entertaining to viewers, educators, press, and funders, while keeping the women's own voices at the center.
The approach
The site leads with the trailer and the free full film (with French and Spanish subtitled versions), both embedded from YouTube to drive user traffic to a centralized point. The site also separates the project story, teaching resources, and press information into clear navigation paths.
The result
The site gives the film a lasting home, and it has supported screenings from the 2022 Accra premiere through to events in Dakar and Uppsala in 2025. It also turns the research into usable classroom and training tools and presents the project's institutional backing and media coverage in one credible place.
